| Tipping has always been a divisive issue for many people. In an economy that is performing poorly, it makes sense that people might not want to tip their servers as much. With that being said, a tip can go a long way in making a server’s day and even alleviate any financial difficulty they might be facing. The Mason Jar Cafe, a breakfast and brunch restaurant based in Michigan, shared a heartwarming post on Facebook detailing how one of their customers had left an astounding $10,000 as a tip for one of their servers. The post has 3.1K likes, 362 comments and 757 shares on the social media platform. |
| They also revealed that the server decided to share the big tip with other servers to spread the love. The post reads, “In a time where so much is happening, we wanted to share and thank the person who did this life-changing act. Things can feel heavy sometimes, but this was such an amazing act to have seen firsthand in our restaurant.” We also get to see how the anonymous man had only eaten for $32.43. People loved the wholesome gesture and chimed in with their thoughts in the comments section. |
| Debe Gibson Stouffer said, “Thank you, whoever you are! The owners and staff at Mason Jar are amazing! They have worked so very hard to be successful! They continue to serve our wonderful community with kindness and incredible food!” Another individual, Shawn Osburn, expressed, “That’s awesome! You hear about things like this happening, but never around here!!! Until now. Makes me feel good about humanity.” Diana Seely commented, “I can understand wanting to do that. Mason Jar servers are so kind, caring and customer service focused and lots of other flattering adjectives.” |

Woman visited subway station every day for 20 years to hear her deceased husband’s recorded voice
| Love doesn’t truly end, even if one of them leaves the world. It was proven by Dr. Margaret McCollum, who sits every day at the underground station to hear the voice of her dead husband, Oswald Laurence. Her husband, Laurence, recorded the message in 1950 and passed away in 2003. To feel his presence, McCollum began making rounds on the station every day to listen to him. Her world came crashing down when she was informed that her husband’s message was replaced by an electronic voice. To somehow preserve this memory, she began reaching out to the authorities. Hearing her side of the story, the authorities took a heartwarming step, as reported by BBC. |
| Laurence, a RADA graduate and actor, was hired amongst many to record the message “Mind the gap” for subways. This message intends to inform travelers that they should always be aware of the space present between the trains and the docks. It could lead to dangerous consequences for travelers if they fall into the gap, therefore, this message is important. For many years, Laurence’s voice playing in the subway was a fun thing to experience for the couple. However, after Laurence was taken away from McCollum, she used the voice as a means to hold him close to her. |
| McCollum, after Laurence’s death, missed him dearly. She missed seeing him, hearing his voice and just being with him. This longing drew her to the underground station, where she would hear his voice. She began going every day so she could sit on the bench and listen to her beloved Laurence while waiting for the train. It continued for five years. However, to her shock, in 2007, Laurence was replaced by an electronic voice. It caused her to panic, as she had somehow devised a way to find something to hold on to her husband, and now it was gone. McCollum immediately contacted the London subway transport company, TfL Rail and told them the whole story. She requested a cassette tape, so she could hear her husband’s voice in her home. |

Server shares secret ways to get 20% tips from customers and it has people in stitches
| There’s nothing better than a little humor to add flavor to one’s daily activities. When it comes to customer service-related jobs, adding that hysterical tick always pays off for the better. A server, Hailey, shared a video on TikTok revealing what secret things help her in getting the extra tip beyond 20%. Right enough, the server shared some hilarious jokes to uplift the entire mood of the table one was serving and it’s a total banger. “These are the server bits that get me an immediate 20% tip,” Hailey said. Getting straight to it, she revealed a list of what she calls “glorified dad jokes” that will guarantee a wholesome tip at the end of a customer’s meal. |
| First off, Hailey suggested taking advantage of the situation at the table, especially when a table requests something. “You want some extra ranch? Let me grab that for you real quick,” Hailey said, citing an example. She then staged a scenario where she’d return with the ranch and find the table saying their grace before meals or prayers. Instead of simply leaving the item on the table or interrupting the customers, Hailey suggested taking a quick round of the neighboring tables. “Come back with their ranch as soon as they’re done praying. Boom! Set the ranch on the table, ‘Your prayers have been answered,’ everyone’s cackling,” she said. |
| In the next scenario, Hailey spilled the beans on how to add light humor to veterans while appreciating them. “See a veteran with a hat? ‘Oh, thank you for your service’,” she suggested as a line to use on the veterans to make them feel more approachable and appreciate them. This, in turn, would get the veteran to smile, already lifting the mood. Hailey then added the punchline saying, “I promise my service will be excellent today.” “When I tell you, 25% easily,” she added. Next, Hailey came up with the “daddest joke” ever, suggesting that dads would love this one. “If your customers have completely cleared the table, ‘Oh my gosh, we must have hated it!’” Hailey suggested saying with the happiest sarcastic tone possible. “They’re cackling, especially if there’s a dad at the table, he’s cracking up,” she added. Finally, Hailey shared one last joke to use which can be used often. |
