Russia is cast as the villain as far as events in the Ukraine are concerned, but when we look at the historical background, it is possible to see that the Russians have genuine and justifiable anxieties, which have been exacerbated by the behaviour of Britain and the United States.

The Russian regime doesn’t get to “allow” or “not allow” the Ukrainian regime to become a NATO or EU member. It might impose consequences for such a development, but it has precisely zero control over whether that development transpires.
