At least the system showed its hand. In many ways, 2020 was actually a very good year. The inherent incompetence of the state was partially exposed by the pandemic. The corruption of the ruling class and hypocrisy of the political class was demonstrated by the economic response to the government-induced depression. Incidents of police brutality triggered an uprising by the urban lumpenproletariat and government overreach triggered an uprising by the rural lumpenproletariat. Not bad for a mere 12-month period.
Krystal Ball explains why the real failure of 2020 was the utter failure of “everyone” to deal with the pandemic.
