🗣️🇺🇸 The Trump vs Biden presidential debate went very much in Trump’s favour. Trump spent the night ignoring details and sprouting vagaries, while devoting almost half his speaking time to attacking Biden. The president, on the other hand, came off as rambling, confused, repetitive and, well, old. These two: the best America has produced for election.
🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran has been hit with fresh sanctions by the US. The development is in response to “continued nuclear escalations”. “Over the past month, Iran has announced steps to further expand its nuclear program in ways that have no credible peaceful purpose,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said.
🇦🇷💸 Argentina is on track to pass a raft of new economic reforms that should boost President Javier Milei’s success, and that of the country (probably in that order). Investment incentives, privatisation of SOEs and reworked taxes are all on the legislative board.
🇰🇪👮 Kenya’s first police contingent has arrived in Haiti, ironically as their own country is still embroiled in unrest. The Kenyans will lead a United Nations-ratified mission currently only numbering a few hundred, with 2,500 police expected to deploy in total.
