From the ages of 14-28, I worked double time at places like Dairy Queen, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Whole Foods Market grocery stores; there was even a stretch at age 23 where I was actually homeless, practically starving and sleeping in a park under a bench for a while.

Since 2008, I have spent my time learning, researching, and growing, and I have worked as a supervisor, manager, director, and eventually business owner for companies both local, national, and global; I understand the importance of people. I know that the success of any organization depends on the people who make it up.

I am not above or below anyone else, and I’m not putting on an act to make sure I say and do the neutrally acceptable thing so that I can please everyone. Let’s just be genuine and honest. I want to shake things up, make a difference and put Wichita on the map as a destination place, a place that Wichitans love and people want to visit, not just a place you get stuck in.

I am not doing this to tread lightly; I want to put one foot forward and make the hard decisions that are often just ‘talked about’ but never put into action.
