Officials have openly acknowledged that it was Israel’s doing and there is speculation that this is part of a joint effort to contain Iran. The situation has escalated to a point where the U.S. officials are providing a rationale for the attack. The JCPOA talks have ended in a deadlock, and both sides are putting pressure on each other. Some experts believe that the recent events and the return of Netanyahu as prime minister of Israel may have played a role in the situation. The situation is viewed as a dangerous development, and there is concern that it could lead to a full-scale war.
