Biden: Arsonists and Anarchists Should Be Prosecuted

Here it comes. Co-opt with the left-hand, repress with the right-hand. In the future, look for the “far-left” to be increasingly labeled as “far-right” (they already do this in some instances).

People who commit arson should be prosecuted but peaceful protesters should be left alone, presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said on Tuesday.

Biden, 77, speaking during a rare press conference, came out against criminal acts but accused President Donald Trump of handling the recent riots in cities like Portland the wrong way.

“I said from the outset of the recent protests that there’s no place for violence or destruction of property. Peaceful protesters should be protected and arsonists and anarchists should be prosecuted. And local law enforcement can do that,” Biden said.

“The fact is that arsonists should be accountable. People carrying guns shooting should be held accountable. People who engage in criminal activity should and must be held accountable and taken to trial,” he added later.

The Obama administration was able to protect federal property without turning the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) into a “private militia,” the former vice president claimed.

  1. Joe Biden shouldn’t be called ‘of the left’. The guy is just an elite imperialist politician, the fact he is representing the most mainstream ‘left’ party only proves the mainstream is bankrupt. He is able to join the worst of the right (Being a pro imperialist and pro police state) with the worst of the left (VAWA). I will have the support Trump against my will because of him. (As Trump is a little, not enought, less imperialist and doesn’t support VAWA, despite being very pro police state.)

    • If you define “Left” as anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist then, by world standards, both the Democrats and Republicans are right-wing parties. The Republicans could be considered a hybrid of Israel’s Likud Party on foreign policy (ultra-militarist), and El Salvador’s ARENA on economics (ultra-plutocrats). On domestic policy, they’re basically the modern version of the Know-Nothings. The Democrats are far-right (ultra-imperialist) on foreign policy, center-right (neo-liberal) on economics, and totalitarian humanist (statist progressive, the same as the progressives of the early 20th century, only without the racism) on domestic policy. The Democraps embrace of multiculturalism doesn’t make them “left.” Singapore is a fascist multicultural state complete with hate speech laws. Singapore’s ruling party’s flag is modeled on the flag of the British Union of Fascists. Their embrace of environmentalism and the welfare state doesn’t make them “left.” Madison Grant was a staunch conservationist and the Third Reich were pioneer welfare statists, as was Otto von Bismarck. The only issues on which the Democrats could be considered left might be their embrace of feminism and the LGBT movement, but those are really no different from the middle to upper-class nature of the suffragettes back in the day.

      • I agree, I was using ‘left’ and ‘right’ in the way most people uses it. (‘Left’ is democrat, and ‘right’ is republican). I don’t think left and right are very good terms as real life ideas and politics are more complex than these two categories. Even the Noan chart is far from perfect, distributism (that you could say is paleo-left-libertarianism) would fit where in it?
