It’s interesting how these videos reveal that Buckley was hardly the persona of conservative, civilized virtue and religious piety he pretended to be.

Buckley was undoubtedly an intelligent man. But he used his gifts to support the Establishment. He undermined the anti-war tradition on the Right and sold out on States’ rights (local sovereignty) and other issues. Many people think he was supported by the CIA o other Federal agencies in order to subvert the Old Right.
