In this essay, Anarchist researcher Keith Preston offers a compelling case for forming a vanguard to resist the most oppressive forms of the American government. In “Liberty and Populism,” Preston disregards the stigma attached to Anarchism and the mainstream Anarchist movement. Instead, he states that much more can be accomplished if the current “culture wars” are left to local autonomy, and radicals strictly focus on bringing down the State. He calls for Anarchists to make alliances with several fringe movements and to build alternative enterprises. He asks for allegiances to be diverse, but authentic. Not something to miss out on if you’re interested in anything related to American radical politics.
