Heartland anarchists make it onto “60 Minutes.” Did anyone happen to check this out?
———————————————————————————————————-
Anti-government U.S. extremists who don’t pay taxes and ignore requirements like Social Security cards and drivers licenses are on the rise. Called sovereign citizens, some have become violent and the FBI considers them a domestic terror threat. Byron Pitts reports, May 15, 7 p.m. ET/PT.

An acquaintance of mine attacked this movement in this piece of his:

I’m not sure if I have the time or energy to debate him on the subject, nor do I know what that would accomplish.
Where do you differ with the Warrior Publications piece? I found it quite solid.
I’ve come across some of these guys as well. They aren’t necessarily white supremacist. E.g., some are black guys who think they can get out of traffic tickets by renouncing their US citizenship and filing various bogus documents, like deeds from their old selves giving their souls and free will to their new selves. See this nonsense from the Sovereign Moors:

At best, they are fools for believing in the myth of the rule of law. See Anthony Gregory on this:

Louis,
I think their tactics are crazy and would never partake in them or advocate them myself. But I also think the Warrior Publications piece incorrectly identifies them as a threat to indigenous people and our sovereignty. It takes our eye off the ball to be distracted by fringe right wing movements when the real damage is being done by the Feds and State governments.
Additionally, The Republic of Lakotah has very similar tactics to the sovereign citizens movement, and I find what they are doing rather inspirational. Lastly, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
