This is important stuff.

I recently put a couple of questions concerning current events to a well-known intellectual historian, a Jewish man whose parents fled Hungary during the rise of Hitler, and who is a specialist in the history of 20th-century totalitarian movements.  His responses confirmed my suspicion that both the bizarre de facto alliance of the far-left, liberals, neocons, and Bush Republicans which has emerged in opposition to the Trumpists, and the seeming acquiescence of the state to both the iconoclasm spree of the far left and the lumpenproletarian insurrection, represents efforts by the capitalist class, the new clerisy, and the Deep State to weaponize both the far left and the insurrectionists against the Trumpists, subsequently purging or co-opting both, while restoring neocon dominance of the military-industrial-intelligence complex. In other words, it’s all about putting the neocons back in charge of US foreign policy. Remember that the neocons started out as Trots, and this is exactly how Bolshies do things.

Q: I know a number of people in both antiwar libertarian and genuine Marxist-Leninist circles who increasingly believe that Alexander Reid-Ross is being paid by someone to write propaganda that is intended to steer Antifa-types toward neoconnish foreign policy views. His Twitter feed largely consists of nothing but the SPLC line on “hate” and what amounts to what could be called “left-neocon” or “neo-Schactmanite” views of international relations (Russia is at the center of a global fascist axis, China is a fascist regime, Syria and Iran are anti-Semitic fascist regimes, Saudi Arabia is benign in comparison, the Ortega regime in Nicaragua is “fascist,” etc). I’ve started calling him Alexander Rodham Ross or Alexander Reid-Ross-Kristol in recent years.

A: This is worth looking into. I too have the impression that at least elements of Antifa are close to the neocons. In Germany, the pro-Zionist wing of the Antifaschisten often seems to be imitating the neocon press in the US, on the evil character of German history, the dangerous reactionaries Putin and Orban, and on the need to support the Israeli Right. I don’t think any of this is a coincidence. In doing research on Jamie Kirchik, who is an “antifascist” neocon and LGBT advocate featured in NR and Washington Examiner, I noticed that Jamie and Reid-Ross are ideologically interchangeable. I’d be astonished if they didn’t have the same sponsors.

Q: Another thing I find interesting is that there seems to be a de facto anti-Trump axis developing that includes everything from Antifa and intersectional types to MSNBC liberals to unreconstructed Bush Republicans like Bloomberg, neocons like Kristol, and hawks like Bolton. I guess this is the new “Good War” alliance against the Orange Man Fuhrer, which I find hilarious since Trump strikes me as about as “far-right” as Ed Koch. And I suspect Bolton’s real motivation is to secure a position in a future Biden administration where he and Samantha Power Sunstein can work side by side to remake the world according to neocon prescriptions.

A: I agree with everything that [you] said. The de facto alliance that [you] mentioned against the verbally inept Orangeman does seem to be taking shape but the question remains: “What the Hell do you do about the looting mobs?” There is an obvious answer, providing the hard PC Left does take over, which is to throw one’s unruly mob into jail or dispose of them in a harsher way if they don’t disperse. But they’ll need media assistance to resolve that problem, which they may in fact get. Please notice how the media cooperated to push Bernie out of the race.

Q: That’s exactly what I’m been telling all the far-left anarchists I know. When the Blue Tribe Khomeinists fully consolidate their position, these Red Guard wannabes will be the first to be guillotined.

A: The PC Left will take over with a coalition of anti-Trump forces, including neocons, Never-Trump Republicans, the media, and corporate capitalists. At some point, they’ll ditch the noisemakers and enraged iconoclasts. Perhaps the media will then explain that the rabble-rousers are really working for the extreme Right. The way the media went after Bernie shows how they will turn on a Left they don’t want. Another obvious prediction: If the PC Left takes over, conservatism, inc. will stand where CNN is now on most issues, but continue to take pro-Likud positions to accommodate its sponsors.
