Neocons versus Zionists

The Fall of Syria

Labels are always a tricky thing. Just the other night I got into a real-life argument concerning if the Nazis “were really on the Right.” You know, the usual “Nazi stands for National SOCIALISTS and socialism is a Left-wing ideology.” It is all so tiresome.

But, unfortunately, words (at least in English) tend to be fluid over time and change their meaning. Trying to stop the evolution of language is like trying to stop the Sun rising in the East. It happens, so we have to deal with it.

“Neo-Conservative” and “Zionist” are two words that have become muddled together. This is somewhat understandable as many people (especially in America) are in both camps. For example, that unhinged Dr. Strangelove character otherwise known as John Bolton, is a Zionist and a Neocon. We see many of these loathsome creatures slithering around Washington.

But not all Neocons are Zionists, and not all Zionists are Neocons.

A Zionist is someone that believes that the Jewish people have a right to their own homeland. While this is not an unreasonable position, many Zionists would recoil at the idea that other ethnic groups have this same right. If you suggest that England should be for the English people, many Zionists will call you a Nazi. And if you suggest that Israel should be a homeland for everyone, not just the Jews, you will also be called a Nazi.

Zionism is powerful in America due to two factors – Jewish influence and Christian Zionism.

It is no secret (but it is not said in polite company) that Jewish people have a disproportionate influence in the media and finance. And some of the Jews (not all) support a homeland for their people. If you are a national politician and you do not support Zionism, your funds will dry up and the media will smear you as an antisemite. Politicians understand this reality and live in fear of offending such powerful lobbying groups such as AIPAC.

The other factor in the support of Zionism in America is a heresy known a Christian Zionism that became popular in the 19th century. This heresy rejects that Christian doctrine that all people must come to Christ for salvation. Christian Zionists believe that Jews are “special” people and God has given them a pass. And if we Christians support Jews and their homeland, we will get all sorts of favors from the Big Guy up in the sky.

Neoconservatives don’t necessarily care that much about Zionism or religion. While Neocons are disproportionately Jewish, most don’t really care all that much about Israel. The ancestors of Neocons were communist Trotskyites who desired a one world government without regard to national borders. The Neocons inherited much of the ideology of their predecessors while changing the communism aspect into “liberal democracy.” These people are the globalists that want to see a one world government that ensures people live in pods and celebrate gay sex. A national homeland for the Jews is not important to them. They consider countries that oppose this agenda such as Russia and China to be natural enemies. Soros is a famous example of such a globalist.

Syria falling was a victory for the Zionists, but not so much for the Neocons.

Israel has already annexed Syrian land. And the Iranian arming of Hezbollah (an Israeli enemy) is now much more difficult. The goal of a “Greater Israel” seems to be closer to reality. As Russia and Iran did not bother to intervene to help Syria, it is obvious that both countries are making their peace with a new political alignment that includes Israel as a legitimate state. We saw clues of this change earlier this year as Iran’s response to Israeli provocations was quite tepid. Iran no longer desires a war with Israel and America. Iran prefers to align with Russia and China as part of a new global order. While Iran is not happy with Jews killing their Muslim brothers in Gaza, they are more focused on long-term goals (such as a development of nuclear weapons) that will secure their future. They will not allow Israel to bait them into a premature war.

This new alignment and potential political stability is not what the Neocons want. They want to see Iran, Russia and China fall under the new world order. However, the terrorists that took over Syria have announced that the Russian bases will remain in Syria. And the Zionists don’t really seem to care.

The Neocons’ fear is that the new global realignment which includes the evil axis of Russia, Iran and China will be impossible to defeat or subvert.

We see this attitude with the incoming Trump administration that is heavily Zionist, but skeptical of the Neocon globalist agenda. Trump has made it clear that protecting Israel is his primary goal. Ukraine? Not so much.

As quickly as Syria fell (the army refused to fight) suggests that a backroom deal was struck between Trump and Putin. Putin agreed to give up Syria in exchange for Trump to give up Ukraine. We will soon see if this is the case. If Trump cuts off funding to Ukraine, Ukraine will collapse as quickly as Syria.
