Last week, 40 U.S. Senators voted to block yet another Trump arms shipment to Israel — the most votes ever in the Senate to stop the U.S. from sending weapons to Israel.¹

Though the effort failed, Sens. Warner and Kaine took a courageous stand with a strong majority of Senate Democrats and voted in favor of peace and justice for the people of Lebanon, Iran, and Gaza. The United Nations and advocates warn that Israel is using its “Gaza model” of genocidal violence against the people of Lebanon.²

It’s important that we show Sens. Warner and Kaine our support for this vote to stop U.S. weapons support for Israel’s atrocities, and urge them to keep fighting to end our government’s support for the Israeli military.

Israel’s strikes on civilian areas in Lebanon have killed more than 2,000 people. Israel has displaced 1.2 million people and continues to destroy and occupy southern Lebanon.^3,4 This is what the U.S. government is backing when it sends billions in funding and arms to Israel.

Our taxpayer dollars are going directly to fuel atrocities in Lebanon and genocidal violence in Gaza, as well as the reckless U.S.-Israeli war on Iran. Senators like Sens. Warner and Kaine who opposed another arms shipment to Israel made the moral choice. We must applaud their vote and urge them to keep fighting to stop future weapons transfers.
