Anti-Imperialism/Foreign Policy

Collaboration in Times of War

WE are constantly informed that the governments of Russia and Ukraine are bitter enemies and yet, somehow, right in the middle of what has been one of the strangest conflicts in history the United Nations – i.e. American imperialism in fancy dress – conveniently arranged for the two warring parties to ‘avert a global food crisis’ by allowing $10bn worth of grain to flow from East to West. Several weeks earlier, it had been announced that the United States was constructing huge grain silos along the Polish-Ukrainian border. This is just one of many such examples that undermine what we are told is a fight to the death.

For those who haven’t quite considered the wider consequences of this economic strategy, I have some bad news for you. That same gang of crooked middle-men will be responsible for administering food to Europe. In other words, if a particular country decides that it doesn’t wish to admit thousands of economic migrants into its borders, hand over political dissidents, adopt the LGBT+ agenda, submit to the demands of the IMF or pay its debts on time, the ruthless blackmail that America employs all over the world will be used to ensure that the Continent does exactly as it is told. Failure to comply is likely to result in widespread hunger, social unrest and, ultimately, systematic regime-change. I firmly believe that Moscow, Kyiv, Washington and post-Brexit London are all in this together. Look on the bright side, at least the real battle-lines are finally beginning to appear.
