John Spencer is the foremost expert on urban warfare. He is the chair of urban warfare studies at the Modern War Institute at West Point. He is the co-director of the Urban Warfare Project and the host of The Urban Warfare Project Podcast. He’s written numerous books and publications including a manual for Ukrainian civilians to defend themselves against the Russian invasion. Before academia John served two tours in Iraq and has since made three visits to Gaza during the current war to observe operations there.
