Sign the petition: Netanyahu continues threats to invade the densely populated city in Gaza where over a million Palestinians have taken refuge

Israeli airstrikes are falling on Rafah1 as Netanyahu continues his threats to invade the densely populated city in Gaza where over a million Palestinians have taken refuge.2

This escalation would displace, kill, and cut off humanitarian aid like food and water to even greater numbers of Palestinians — many who’ve already fled their homes.3 There is no time left for Congress and President Biden to use their power to ensure an end to Israeli aggression.

“An Israeli offensive on Rafah would lead to an unspeakable humanitarian catastrophe,” said the European Union’s head of foreign policy when Israel first threatened to invade. The deaths, loss of humanitarian aid, and intensifying tensions in the region would be a new devastating stage in this already horrific conflict.4

Hamas’s attacks beginning on October 7 must be condemned, but Israel’s response has been disproportionate and taken an extraordinary civilian toll. The urgent need for a ceasefire grows with every day and every airstrike on the Palestinian people. Our lawmakers must broker peace immediately.
