The indomitably shameless George Santos has not, in fact, been shamed out of office. Instead, as New York’s Shawn McCreesh reports today, he seems to be having fun, while becoming a sort of mascot for the MAGA wing of the GOP, the ultimate troll of decency-minded libs (and normal Republicans) everywhere. Shawn watches Santos’s fans line up for selfies with him at the Upper East Side’s Beach Cafe, before traveling to Staten Island, where Vish Burra, the congressman’s “director of operations” (previous employers: Steve Bannon, Matt Gaetz), holds forth on the plan to get Santos reelected and maybe even make him … president?
