Libertarians Should NOT Support Texan Secession

“Secession is only good when our team does it,” said the special pleaders at C4SS.
“As such, this is the distinction between defending the autonomy of territories like the Rebel Zapatista Autonomous Municipalities, Freetown Christiania, and ZAD de Notre-Dame-des-Landes from the states they exist within and supporting the secession of Texas from the United States. And if libertarians truly support the reduction and even abolition of government, they cannot advocate for the creation of a new independent state if it will only lead to more governmental oppression within its borders.”

Recently, the Republican Party of Texas released a brand new platform stating that “Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto” and calls “for the people of Texas to determine whether or not the State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation.” On the surface, this may appear to be an ideal situation to many libertarians as it would mean a reduction in the authority of the federal government and would ultimately challenge the legitimacy of the U.S. state.

  1. Well it is self-parody, isn’t it?

    > Eric Fleischmann (he/they)

OK – right there. It’s a standard issue Lefty Democrat with Special Pronounces and everything!

    > is an undergrad student

Reliant on Democrat party GRAFT and looking for a job in Academia

    > working in the solidarity economy and pursuing a double major in anthropology and philosophy.

Maybe not – does he even need a job? Trust fund rich kid – everybody else has to work for a living, he farts off in college and writes about how bad conservative Republicans are on a Democrat blog called “Stateless society.”

    > He is an anarchist

In other words, “I’m a standard issue Lefty Democrat.”

    > involved in various capacities with numerous leftist, left-leaning, and labor-oriented organizations

I.e., involved in a lot of Lefty Democrat groups along with lots of other lefty Democrat grad students …

    > generally ones which promote forms of …

Very boutique Lefty Democrat groups …

    > (C4SS, IWW, UMAW, BLC, HEP, CDI, RG, etc)

Every last one of these groups are full of under-achieving Democrat grad students from upper-class backgrounds posturing as “Labor-oriented” and IWW is just Antifa pussy hat types.

    > He has also played in and currently plays in several punk, hardcore, and alternative bands (Soy., Consumerist, Manbitesdog, Nope, etc.) and has released multiple albums.

In other words HE IS A FUCKING HIPSTER.

Hey look – maybe these people take themselves very seriously but I sure as hell don’t. I think they are laughable.

Obviously, nothing these people say is of any importance at all. Other than an entertaining target for mockery, why would anyone bother to even pay attention to them?

“The Center for a Stateless Society” is nothing – it is a website, an email list, of lefty Democrats that have zero effect on anything and anybody.

So why are they worth even reading, other than the aforementioned comedy? (I’ll admit these people are fucking hysterical.)
