I’d like to make an observation that the late-1800’s and early-1900’s equivalent of SJW was the (Alcohol) Prohibition movement, which ended up screwing up America (and increasing the size of government, and pushing organized crime).
No doubt that the people who advocated Prohibition had ‘good intentions’ (but remember, “the road to Hell is paved with Good Intentions”).
There is an excellent documentary on Prohibition on Netflix, probably easily found.
