YOU would hope that the Greenland debacle would finally convince those who put their faith in parties and politicians that Western geopolitics is nothing but a huge charade. I fully support the ordinary Greenlanders that oppose American imperium and who do not want the country’s troops and bureaucrats turning up on their doorstep, but the great fallacy behind this ignominious episode is the common assumption beyond the shores of Greenland that the country’s mainstream politicians who originally spoke out against the United States – Múte Bourup Egede and Vivian Motzfeldt among them – were ever genuine in their concerns. I say this, of course, because a deal has now been struck between America and Greenland, as well as the Danish who claim sovereignty over the island, and it therefore seems clear that this was the intention from the very beginning.

First, there was feigned outrage towards Trump on the part of the Greenland parliament, or Inatsisartut; second, local people rightly stood up to the proposed invasion of their land; and third, the voices of those same people were effectively bypassed in the wake of a new “security and investment agreement” that allows the American military to occupy the Artic whilst, supposedly, maintaining Greenland’s self-determination. This, in turn, will be rubber-stamped by the equally imperialist United Nations. Naturally, Egede and Motzfeldt have now been seen to revise their original stance on the matter.

The lesson to take away from all this, is that ordinary people had absolutely no say in the country’s affairs and that both the public relations exercise and the eventual deal had already been formulated behind closed doors. Regardless whether you live in Greenland, France, Germany or anywhere else, there is no sovereignty when it comes to satisfying the long-term objectives of the Zionist world government.
