Trump’s Tariffs Ruled Illegal Again

May 13, 2026
Dear Readers,

This week, Caleb Pettit covers the recent court decision on Trump’s tariffs. These were levied after the Supreme Court struck down a large chunk of the so-called “Liberation Day” tariffs, and Trump’s team used the exact arguments Senior Fellow and David J. Theroux Chair Phil Magness predicted they would. This is a huge win for liberty.

In a trio of articles, Sam Jenson and I take a hard look at some legal grey zones with respect to privacy. We analyze smart glasses, encrypted emailing, and license plate readers. Then, in a pair of articles, Craig Eyermann details current legislative efforts to consolidate a large anti-fraud bill, along with concerns about politicians and staffers using their insider knowledge to game prediction markets.

Enjoy.
