The Demonisation of the West

HAVING grown up at a time when the world was seen to be divided between the competing forces of capitalism and communism, I do not recall the peoples of the West (and I use the term purely for convenience) ever insinuating that the peoples of the East were wholly in favour of Marxist theory. This attitude is rather different to the manner in which the West is now collectively written-off as ‘degenerate’ by the deluded followers of Eurasianism.

Whilst a huge number of people living in the so-called ‘Communist Bloc’ were rightly opposed to the thoughts and deeds of their rulers prior to its transmogrification in 1989, large numbers of people living in contemporary Europe and North America strongly oppose the propaganda of their own political overlords. To a certain extent, those of us who lived outside the Soviet Empire expressed far more empathy and understanding towards our long-suffering neighbours than the Western traitors and Russian imperialists who now seek to tar us all with the same brush.

The underlying spirit of the Western lands will survive the age of decadence and corruption, just as the Eastern countries managed to outlive communist repression.
