U.S. to resume mandatory reporting of COVID hospitalizations | 6 Sept 2024 | Hospitals in the United States will soon be required to report hospital admissions related to COVID-19, restoring a mandate which was lifted earlier this year, according to federal officials. The new rules are due to take effect on November 1. Hospital data about COVID-19 was often cited as an alternative when many states stopped releasing COVID-related data, including case counts. But those reports became voluntary on May 1, with only 33% of hospitals choosing to participate. Beginning November 1, hospitals will once again be required to report COVID-19 data, as well as information about influenza and RSV, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) at the U.S. Department of Health. [Do not comply.]
Officials in second U.S. state issue stay-at-home orders over EEE | 6 Sept 2024 | Vermont just became the second state to postpone public events in order to curb the spread of a deadly virus in the state. The Green Mountain state joins neighboring Massachusetts in recommending their citizens stay home at night, amid high reports of Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE)… In addition to postponing local nighttime festivals and concerts, the Vermont Department of Health “strongly recommend[s]” people in some of the state’s busiest towns stay inside between 6 pm and 6 am, when the bugs are most active. Around the same time, across state lines, curfews were announced in multiple counties in Massachusetts. Sports games, cookouts and other end-of summer events have been postponed across the state, a move Vermont seems to be mirroring. [Do not comply.]
Threat of EEE leads to cancellation of Oktoberfest Vermont 2024 | 2 Sept 2024 | The threat of Eastern equine encephalitis has led to the cancellation of another popular event in our region. Organizers say Oktoberfest Vermont 2024 at the Burlington Waterfront is canceled. They say they made the decision after recommendations from state health officials and the city advising people to limit their time outdoors during the evening to avoid the potentially deadly mosquito-borne virus. Health officials recently released advice for people to stay inside as much as possible between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. for high-risk towns including Alburgh, Burlington, Colchester and Swanton. EEE is a rare but serious virus that can be fatal in one out of every three people with significant cases.
Missouri reports human bird flu case with no link to animals | 6 Sept 2024 | A patient in Missouri has tested positive for H5 bird flu, but unlike previous cases there is no known link to animals, according to state and federal officials. The source of the infection is still unknown. The patient, who was only described as an adult with underlying medical conditions, was hospitalized on August 22. After testing positive for Influenza A, a specimen was sent to the state lab for additional testing, which revealed the H5 subtype. “The specimen was forwarded to CDC for additional testing and was confirmed as H5 subtype of flu, also known as a bird flu, or avian flu. Additional virus characterization is underway at CDC,” the Missouri Department of Health said in a statement on Friday. The patient has since recovered and was released from hospital. GOP governors (but not Scott) reject WHO health policy grab | 5 Sept 2024 | Republican governors joined together August 29 to state that they will not comply with the World Health Organization’s attempt at one world control over health policy. “Under the proposed amendments and treaty, the WHO’s Director-General would supposedly gain unilateral power to declare a ‘public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC)’ in member nations, extending beyond pandemics to include a range of perceived emergencies,” a letter published by Republican Governor’s Association said. Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R-RINO) was not among the 26 Republican governors who released a joint statement, stating: “The World Health Organization is attempting one world control over health policy with their new ‘Pandemic Agreement.’ Twenty-four Republican Governors expressed concern over this development in a joint letter in May 2024. Put simply, Republican Governors will not comply.”
Trump accuses Ukraine of lying about death toll –The former U.S. president has blamed the conflict on the Biden regime and renewed his pledge to bring peace if reelected | 4 Sept 2024 | U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has accused Ukraine of intentionally covering up the true number of deaths in ITS conflict with Russia. In an interview on the Lex Fridman podcast published on Tuesday, Trump claimed “the death numbers are going to be a lot higher than people think” when the time comes to “iron out” the casualties. Information about troop losses has been hard to confirm, with Zelensky claiming earlier this year that it stood at around 31,000, while both Russian and foreign estimates indicate that it could be much higher. “They lie about the numbers,” Trump claimed in the podcast.
Trump assassination attempt: Whistleblowers claim that they were ‘woefully unprepared’ to provide security –Whistleblowers allege agents were given grossly inadequate training | 3 Sept 2024 | Whistleblowers have told Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., that Secret Service personnel are “woefully unprepared” and given inadequate training to properly protect candidates — including former President Trump — in new claims regarding the assassination attempt against the Republican presidential nominee. Hawley appeared on Jesse Watters Primetime Tuesday night to reveal whistleblowers’ claims that when Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents were reassigned to work on the protective details, they were given a single two-hour webinar on Microsoft Teams. The videos were pre-recorded, with whistleblowers allegedly saying that the videos were riddled with technical mishaps… The whistleblowers further claimed that these same two-hour webinars have not been updated since the assassination attempt against Trump on July 13. “Nothing new, nothing improved since the assassination attempt on former President Trump,” one whistleblower told Hawley.
Judge Merchan delays Trump sentencing until after election –Former President Donald Trump’s sentencing date has been rescheduled to Nov. 26 | 6 Sept 2024 | Judge Juan Merchan decided to postpone former President Trump’s sentencing in New York v. Trump until after the November presidential election. Trump’s sentencing date is now scheduled for Nov. 26. The original date was Sept. 18. “The public’s confidence in the integrity of our judicial system demands a sentencing hearing that is entirely focused on the verdict of the jury and the weighing of aggravating and mitigating factors free from distraction or distortion,” Merchan said in a letter Friday. Steven Cheung, Trump campaign spokesperson, told Fox News Digital, “There should be no sentencing in the Manhattan DA’s Election Interference Witch Hunt. As mandated by the United States Supreme Court, this case, along with all of the other Harris-Biden hoaxes, should be dismissed.” Trump’s initial sentencing was set for July 11 – just days before the Republican National Convention, where he was set to be formally nominated as the 2024 GOP presidential nominee, but Judge Juan Merchan agreed to delay that until Sept. 18.
Hunter Biden changes plea in federal tax case twice in one day, intends to plead guilty | 5 Sept 2024 | For the second time in one day, Hunter Biden changed his plea in the federal case centered on nine tax charges ahead of the jury selection that was set to begin Thursday. This morning, the first son abruptly changed his “not guilty” plea to an Alford plea, a type of guilty plea in which he would acknowledge prosecutors have enough evidence to convict, but does not admit wrongdoing while accepting sentencing from the judge. But after opposition from prosecutors to the measure, Biden changed his plea to a standard guilty plea this afternoon, per CNN. U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi has now accepted the plea, and the first son will be sentenced in Los Angeles on Dec. 16. A grand jury originally returned an indictment on three felony tax charges and six misdemeanor charges last year. Hunter Biden previously pleaded not guilty to the charges in January.
North Carolina judge halts mailing of ballots with RFK Jr.’s name on them | 6 Sept 2024 | A North Carolina judge on Friday halted the state from distributing mail-in ballots that still have Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name on them, delaying the start of voting. The independent candidate, previously seen as a potential “spoiler” to the major party contenders, suspended his campaign last month, endorsed former President Trump and asked to be taken off ballots in key battleground states, but he’s met some hurdles in removing his name. North Carolina’s State Board of Elections voted last week to reject Kennedy’s request for removal. Kennedy challenged the decision, and a Wake County Superior Court on Thursday ruled he must remain on the ballot. But that judge also ordered a delay in sending ballots to give Kennedy time to appeal, and the latest order from the North Carolina Court of Appeals now stops the state from disseminating ballots listing him as a candidate for the White House.
Appeals court orders removal of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from Michigan ballot | 6 Sept 2024 | The Michigan Court of Appeals ordered on Friday that former Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name be removed from the ballot for the upcoming November election. “While the request was made close to the deadline for defendant to give notice of candidates to local election officials, it was not made so late that laches should apply,” a three-judge panel of the court wrote, according to The Detroit News. “Additionally, we conclude that the absence of any statutory authority prohibiting his withdrawal gave plaintiff a clear legal right to have his name removed from the ballot,” the statement continued. Last month, Kennedy Jr. announced he was suspending his presidential campaign and endorsing former President Donald Trump.
Pennsylvania reporters ordered not to ask Gov Walz questions at campaign event –Tim Walz and Kamala Harris have largely avoided the press during their campaign | 4 Sept 2024 | A local Pennsylvania journalist revealed how reporters were not allowed to ask Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz questions during a campaign event in Lancaster County on Wednesday. The Democratic vice presidential candidate stopped by the Lancaster County Democratic Committee field office with his daughter on Wednesday morning as part of ongoing campaign efforts in the state. While Walz spoke with volunteers at the office, WPMT FOX43 reporter Alyssa Kratz wrote in a Facebook post how the campaign would not let the press speak with him… “One reporter tried shouting a question and we were told to ‘not disrupt the program,'” Kratz wrote.

Colin Gray, the father of the 14-year-old suspect, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced Thursday. FBI issued dire warnings about alleged Georgia school shooter – but cops quickly shut probe | 5 Sept 2024 | The Federal Bureau of Investigation issued dire warnings about Colt Gray’s troubling online activities more than a year before he allegedly shot up his Georgia high school – but cops closed their investigation in just two days without removing any guns from the home. The Jackson County Sheriff’s office paid a visit to Gray’s home after receiving a tip from the FBI in May 2023 that Colt had threatened to shoot up a middle school on Discord, an online messaging service popular with gamers, according to police report documents viewed by The Post.
FBI reveals bombshell details into Georgia high school shooting suspect Colt Gray – who was on their radar for more than a year –FBI questioned shooting suspect last year over threats | 5 Sept 2024 | The 14-year-old student who opened fire on classmates in a horror mass shooting at Apalachee High School was on the radar of the FBI a year before the tragedy, it has emerged. The federal agency said it interviewed accused gunman Colt Gray, 14, and his father last year following “several anonymous tips about online threats to commit a school shooting at an unidentified location and time.” Officials said Gray “denied making the threats online” at the time, and the only action taken was to warn local schools to “continually monitor” the troubled teen. The agency said after Gray denied the threats, Jackson County “alerted local schools for continued monitoring” of the disturbed teen.
Georgia school shooting leaves at least 4 dead and close to 30 injured – report | 4 Sept 2024 | At least four people are believed to have been killed and about 30 others injured in a shooting at a high school in northern Georgia on Wednesday morning, according to a report. The victims were all apparently wounded when shots rang out at Apalachee High School in Winder before 10:30 a.m., law enforcement sources told CNN. It was not immediately clear if all of the reported injuries were from gunshot wounds, they added. A suspect, who is of student age, is in custody, the sources said.
Who is Kathy Hochul’s Chinese ‘spy’ Linda Sun? Ivy League graduate ‘infiltrated government’ to pump taxpayer funds into the COVID crisis | 4 Sept 2024 | A high-ranking New York government official was allegedly working as a Chinese spy while pumping taxpayer funds into masks and ventilators during the COVID pandemic, it emerged last night. Linda Sun, an Ivy League graduate who worked for Democratic Governors Andrew Cuomo and Kathy Hochul, was dramatically arrested alongside her husband in a dawn raid on her 4million Long Island home on Tuesday. Sun and her husband Christopher Hu are accused of earning millions in kickbacks from the Chinese Communist Party… Now it has emerged that Sun bragged about “spearheading” the New York government’s purchasing of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilators during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to her now-deleted [social media] profile. Meanwhile her husband Hu, who is accused of acting as the couple’s m-ney launderer, set up a medical supplies company around the time of the pandemic.
Migrants flooding NYC’s justice system – making up ‘75% of arrests in Midtown’ – as ‘pathetic’ sanctuary city laws handcuff cops | 2 Sept 2024 | Police sources shared with The Post a staggering estimate that as many as 75% of the people they’ve been arresting in Midtown Manhattan in recent months for crimes like assault, robbery and domestic violence are migrants. In parts of Queens, the figure is more than 60%, sources there estimate. On any given day, Big Apple criminal court dockets are packed with asylum seekers who have run afoul of the law. The problem is made much worse by sanctuary city laws that mean New York cops aren’t allowed to work with ICE on cases where they believe suspects are in the country illegally. Additionally, the NYPD says it is barred from tracking the immigration status of offenders… “New York City eliminated a tool to get rid of violent criminals. What a mess,” Jim Quinn, a veteran ex prosecutor at the Queens Districts Attorney’s office, told The Post. “The sanctuary city law is pathetic. It’s disgusting. It’s crazy.”
Once-deported illegal migrant stabs 14-year-old girl at her brother’s baseball game | 2 Sept 2024 | A migrant who illegally entered the country and had been previously deported has been arrested for stabbing a 14-year-old Illinois girl at her brother’s baseball game. On Saturday at around 3:45pm local time, the teenage girl was with her mother watching her brother play at a field in unincorporated Lowell, about 100 miles west of Chicago. Dimas Gabriel Yanez, 26, allegedly stabbed the girl in the hand and tried to stab her mother, both of whom have yet to be identified, with a “butcher-style knife.” Yanez, who authorities said was deported to Honduras in 2018 before returning to America illegally, was chased off into the woods near the field, after which police found the knife.
