Jeffrey Katzenberg’s Starring Role in Biden vs. Trump II

Hollywood mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg traveled all the way to Iowa during the Republican caucuses (the Democrats didn’t have one in any real way) to tell the assembled press the good news: With Trump trouncing his sniping rivals, the Biden campaign, of which he was one of the eight national co-chairs, was gonna do boffo box office. (Like The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast big, two of the many hits Katzenberg oversaw.) But Katzenberg was tetchy with the press, which made, as Shawn McCreesh reports, his fellow Hollywood big shots get snarky: “What better way to redeem yourself after Quibi than think you’re saving democracy,” one said. “This is classic Jeffrey,” said another. “There is no amount of attention that could ever be enough, and he’s lost his perch here, so he’s seized this new perch. But he is so the wrong messenger.”
