Legalized Marijuana’s $30 billion industry arrived in Midwest in 2018 after decades of traumatic criminal marijuana laws. How do these new laws repair damage to communities? How are cannabis users effected? Missouri’s Amendment 3 adopted in November 2022 contained many “constitutionally-driven” deadlines for legal recreational marijuana, including automatic expungements of criminal marijuana offenses, hiring a Chief Equity Officer, microbusiness targets, educational support, and preference for communities with higher incarceration rates for marijuana offenses. Missouri marijuana sales are forecast to reach $1 billion in 2023. Panelists discuss “FOLLOW THE MONEY,” which covers cannabis business and normalization of marijuana.
