While I was visiting a family in Siberia, they showed me a building they constructed themselves for less than $10,000. They turned it into a banya (sauna), but they said it would work just as well as a small family home.

There is room for three bedrooms upstairs, with a kitchen, bathroom, and living room downstairs. There are 72 square meters of floor space, or about 750 square feet. Of course, if you would like to spend more than $10,000 on it, you can make it as big as you want.
