In Virginia, a moderate pro-business Republican was elected governor. A black woman whose parents were immigrants from Jamaica was elected as the Republican lieutenant governor. A Latino man whose parents were Cuban refugees was elected as the Republican Attorney General. There is a lot more going on with all this than race alone.
