The main problem I had with this debate is the same one I have with many debates over controversial topical issues in the sense of presenting the issue within the framework of false dichotomies and either/or propositions. It’s possible to agree with Heather that violent crime is a serious issue in the US while agreeing with Thaddeus that overcriminalization is also a problem and actually fuels violent crime.
