Interesting story from the BBC. A man who has held British citizenship
from the age of five has had it revoked because he was deemed a “security
threat”.
Presumably there can be no racial bias in this procedure which
sets an interesting precedent. If the British state can strip people of their
citizenship based on their political views, particularly ones which oppose its
interests, then presumably it can, and might be inclined to, apply this to all
sorts of people. Before you get too excited it worth pointing out even if the
state disowns you it still reserves the right to compel you if you happen to be
on “its” soil.
