ROGER Coudroy (1935–1968) was a Belgian engineer associated with Jeune Europe (“Young Europe”), a nationalist organisation led by Jean Thiriart which sought a third way beyond Moscow and Washington. A committed anti-Zionist, Coudroy travelled to Beirut and Damascus, where he met with members of the Palestinian guerrilla movement, Al Fatah. In May 1968, he visited the Baqa’a refugee camp and was involved in a series of successful paramilitary operations against the Israeli forces which had displaced the indigenous Arab population at the behest of Western imperialism. Originally published in 1969 by the PLO Research Centre, this thrilling insight into Coudroy’s firm belief that the armed struggle for Palestinian sovereignty is no different to the quest for European identity will live long in the memory. At a time when the contemporary Right has sold its soul to powerful Zionist interests, this book will take readers on an unforgettable journey through the fearless exploits of a committed revolutionary who risked everything for the cause of national freedom and social justice.
