Modern Russia is an Enemy of Tradition

CONTRARY to the relentless deceit that has been propagated by Alexander Dugin, a man who has brazenly seduced certain elements in the West by first selecting and then distorting the worthier facets of our own European heritage in order to ensnare his unsuspecting victims, the delusional mindset that leads one to support the current aspirations of the Russian state is centred on a thoroughly debased interpretation of ‘tradition’.

Whilst both Russia and its people have produced some outstanding cultural figures – among them Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Roerich, Tchaikovsky, Solzhenitsyn and many others – the corrupt system that is presently fronted by Vladimir Putin represents the end of a cycle and not, as his supporters would have it, a high point of civilisation that in any way offers a more spiritual or transcendent way of life in contrast to that of the increasingly degenerate West. Indeed, to raise aloft the spectre of an insatiable oligarchy that has actively destroyed the authentic Russian soul with its rampant greed and repression is to celebrate the most spurious and degraded elements of a form of modernity that is a million light years from the perennial spirit of Tradition.

If you seriously consider the financial vultures of the country’s predatory ruling class to stand at the forefront of a new Golden Age – complete with the same hideous skyscrapers, glittering shopping malls and technocratic scientism that one finds closer to home – then you are welcome to it.
