In a statement cited by several local media outlets early on Saturday, Katz said that the attack sought “to remove threats against the State of Israel,” adding that authorities are imposing a nationwide state of emergency due to expected missile and drone strikes on the country’s population in the immediate future. A senior defense official told Israeli Channel 13 that “this is a joint Israeli-American attack” which the sides had been planning “for months.” RT footage from Tehran showed two large plumes of smoke rising over the buildings in the Iranian capital.
U.S. warns Americans to leave Iran ‘immediately’ | 27 Feb 2026 | The United States has urged all Americans to leave Iran “immediately,” escalating rhetoric against Tehran amid demands for concessions on its uranium enrichment and ballistic missile programs and a major military buildup in the Middle East. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Friday that Iran had been formally designated a “State Sponsor of Wrongful Detention,” accusing the Islamic Republic of holding foreign nationals for political leverage. “No American should travel to Iran for any reason. Trump issues chilling Iran missile warning as secret intel whispers swirl | 27 Feb 2026 | President Donald Trump warned this week that Iran is manufacturing weapons that could soon strike U.S. soil, though his pitch for what should come next has left many with more questions than answers. Tehran is “working on missiles that will soon reach” the US, Trump said during his State of the Union address on Tuesday. He also vowed to prevent Iran, the “number one sponsor of terrorism,” from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Two aircraft carrier strike groups — representing around 15,000 soldiers, over a dozen ships, hundreds of planes and likely some submarines — are being used by Trump to get Iran to capitulate to his denuclearization demands. In addition, many thousands of troops and scores of military assets are on bases throughout the region, though there are some reports of evacuations.
Trump launches ‘Task Force Scorpion’ as Iran peace talks collapse –Trump’s massive military build-up in Middle East is largest since 2003 invasion of Iraq | 26 Feb 2026 | Donald Trump has armed a squadron of kamikaze drones as nuclear negotiations with Iran have collapsed and the prospect of war with Tehran looms. The Pentagon has approved the deployment of an experimental U.S. military drone unit capable of self-detonation, known as Task Force Scorpion, according to Bloomberg. The deadly drone unit is a part of Trump’s massive military build-up in the Middle East – the largest since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The Kamikaze drone unit was successful tested in the Arabian Gulf in December and reportedly cost approximately 35,000 per drone. The drones would likely be used to target Iranian nuclear facilities, road networks, and missile launch sites.
Declassified CIA files reveal blueprint to manipulate Americans’ minds through covert drugging with vaccines | 23 Feb 2026 | A newly released CIA document reveals a chilling blueprint to manipulate minds through covert drugging experiments. The report, added to the CIA’s reading room in 2025, details the government’s once top-secret Project Artichoke that ran from 1951 to 1956, focusing on behavior control, interrogation techniques and psychological manipulation. The seven-page document, titled “Special Research for Artichoke,” with an attachment labeled “Suggested Fields for Special Research Relative Artichoke,” outlines proposals to develop chemicals capable of altering human behavior. It discusses drugs designed for both immediate effects, like truth serums, and long-term influence, potentially administered through food, water, alcohol or cigarettes. Researchers also suggested that such substances could be disguised in medical treatments such as vaccinations or injections. Artichoke served as a precursor to the CIA’s MKUltra program, which later broadened mind-altering experiments on a larger scale. [We knew about MKUltra, and now we know that a precursor program, Project Artichoke, aimed at mind control over a much broader population base. These revelations make it clear that the CIA has posed an enormous threat to U.S. citizens, in addition to the horrors it unleashes on non-U.S. target governments and populations. If we lived in a truly democratic society, the CIA would be dismantled immediately. Of course, we do not live in a democratic society. In many ways, our government is inimical to human welfare. –Michael Rectenwald]

FBI fires agents linked to Trump classified documents case | 27 Feb 2026 | At least ten FBI agents linked to the 2022 investigation into US President Donald Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and the search of his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida were dismissed on Wednesday, according to multiple media reports. The firings came after FBI Director Kash Patel said federal authorities had obtained his phone records under the administration of former President [sic] Joe Biden in connection with investigations into Trump. “It is outrageous and deeply alarming that the previous FBI leadership secretly subpoenaed my own phone records — along with those of now White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles — using flimsy pretexts and burying the entire process in prohibited case files designed to evade all oversight,” Patel told Reuters on Wednesday.
