Trump drops tariffs, makes Greenland deal

TRUMP DROPS TARIFFS, MAKES PROVISIONAL GREENLAND DEAL  President Donald Trump yesterday reached a framework agreement with NATO on the future of Greenland. “Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st,” he stated. Trump’s statement came after he made his case for acquiring Greenland in Davos, Switzerland.   READ
POPE INVITED TO JOIN TRUMP’S GAZA BOARD OF PEACE  Pope Leo has been invited to join Trump’s Board of Peace for ending conflict in Gaza. The Vatican’s secretary of state confirmed the invitation, saying the Pope is still “considering what to do” in response.  READ
MINNESOTA CHURCH RESPONDS TO ANTI-ICE PROTESTERS  Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, issued a statement responding to anti-ICE agitators whom the church said “jarringly disrupted” its Sunday service. “Such conduct is shameful, unlawful, and will not be tolerated,” the statement said in part.  READ
WASHINGTON BILL WOULD OPEN ‘ABORTION SAVINGS ACCOUNTS’ A Washington State Senate bill aims to create public “abortion savings accounts” funded via a new levy from health insurance carriers. SENATE PICKS UP MEASURE AGAINST ABORTION TRAFFICKING  A federal bill to strengthen parental rights was introduced in the Senate yesterday. Florida Republican Senator Ashley Moody introduced a companion measure to the House’s Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, which would prohibit transporting minors across state lines to bypass pro-life parental notification or consent laws.  READ
MAGIS CENTER LAUNCHES AI-POWERED APOLOGETICS APP  The Magis Center of Reason and Faith has released a chatbot called MagisAI that answers questions about theology. “We want to give everyone who wants it every imaginable answer to the nexus between science, reason, and faith,” said Father Robert Spitzer, president of the Magis Center.  READ

CHRIST MEDICUS FOUNDATION TO HOST PRO-LIFE EVENT IN DC  Belmont Abbey College and Christ Medicus Foundation will host an event to showcase how health care can help build a culture of life as people gather in DC for the March for Life.
