TELL CONGRESS: Trump just directed the FBI and DOJ to go after any person or organization it claims is “fomenting political violence” by holding so-called “anti-American” beliefs or “extreme” views on race, gender, immigration. Keith,

Trump just signed a sweeping national security memo that empowers the FBI and DOJ to go after people and organizations that oppose Trump’s agenda. This broad directive puts anyone that Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, or Stephen Miller determine hold “anti-American” beliefs or “extreme” views on race, gender, or immigration at

serious risk of targeted political persecution.1

Stephen Miller said, “This is the first time in American history that there is an all-of-government effort to dismantle left wing terrorism.”2 In other words, this is an unprecedented case of the American president preparing the full law enforcement powers of the federal government to target anyone deemed a political enemy.

Congress must take a stand and stop Trump and his loyalists from punishing people for holding dissenting views, exercising their First Amendment rights, or opposing Trump’s violent, far-right agenda.

Trump’s “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence” national security memo (NSPM-7) comes as his administration amplifies its crusade against anyone who tried to hold Trump accountable after the 2020 elections. The DOJ indicted James Comey after Trump publicly demanded that Bondi get revenge against him, Senator Adam Schiff, and New York Attorney General Letitia James.3,4

Trump has spent his second term spreading fear, occupying cities, and relentlessly attacking people and institutions he disagrees with: Democratic politicians, pro-Palestinian advocates, media outlets, law firms, museums, colleges, comedians, and many others. NSPM-7 supercharges the targeting of anyone holding views that Trump doesn’t like.

This is a sprint towards full authoritarianism. Congress has to find the courage and political will to use its powers to end Trump’s strongman takeover.

Sign the petition: Stop Trump’s political persecution of his enemies!
