Good Standing Ep. 09: The Game Plan for Ending Hunger, with Alan Browde
The Good Standing podcast features compelling stories by humans who are solving our systemic problems and collectively unearthing the joys of impact and community service.
This week on The Good Standing Podcast, we speak with Alan Browde, a visionary activist and social innovator who is tackling the root causes of food insecurity in South Africa.
Alan is the Founder and former CEO of South Africa Harvest (SA Harvest), the country’s second-largest food rescue operation. Under his leadership, SA Harvest built a high-efficiency logistics operation that reroutes edible, nutritious surplus food—food that would otherwise go to waste—to organizations serving communities in need.
Now, Alan is going even further. His new initiative, Union Against Hunger, is a coalition of organizations fighting to uphold South Africans’ constitutional right to food. He’s shifting focus toward systemic policy solutions that address hunger at its roots, aiming to make sustainable, structural change.
Listen in for an inspiring, solution-driven conversation on how we move from aid to action in the global fight against hunger.
