Sign the petition: Sens. Warner and Kaine voted to reassert authority over Trump on Iran

Tell Sens. Warner and Kaine: Courageous leaders are taking a stand against Trump’s decision to bypass Congress and bomb Iran. Trump’s unconstitutional strikes on Iran could lead to a prolonged, wider war in the Middle East. Sign the petition: Thank you for voting to block Trump’s war on Iran.

Keith,

47 U.S. Senators voted to stop Trump’s unconstitutional airstrikes on Iran and reassert Congress’s war authority over the White House.1

Though Senator Tim Kaine’s War Powers Resolution failed, it’s important that our Senators know that we value and appreciate their votes — especially as Trump’s defiance of the law continues in over-drive.

The resolution was essential to send a clear message to Trump, saying: No more unauthorized wars! The American people don’t want another war in the Middle East. For all of these reasons, we need to show Sens. Warner and Kaine our support for this vote to stop Trump’s war with Iran.

Sign the petition: Say thank you to Sens. Warner and Kaine for voting to block Trump’s war on Iran.

After the vote fell short, Sen. Kaine said, “I am disappointed that many of my colleagues are not willing to stand up and say Congress needs to be part of a decision as important as whether or not the U.S. should send our nation’s sons and daughters to fight against Iran.”2

“We do not need another unnecessary and costly war,” Senator Bernie Sanders said. “We have had enough of them.”3

Congress can’t allow Netanyahu’s aggression against Iran and Trump’s decision to follow with airstrikes drag our country and our service members into another prolonged, intractable war in the Middle East. Senators who voted last week to stop Trump’s war need to see our support.

Sign the petition: Tell Sens. Warner and Kaine thanks for your vote against Trump’s war on Iran.
