An Easter blessing from Bishop Barron

Dear Friend,

A blessed Easter to you from all of us at Word on Fire!

Pope St. John Paul II once said, “We are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song.” He was stressing that Easter is not a single day of exaltation in the life of the Church; it is a disposition that we should adopt throughout our time on earth.

Can you imagine if we really did live every moment of our lives with the joy we celebrate on Easter? How would your life be different? The redemption you received through Christ would permeate all of your thoughts, emotions, interactions, and relationships.

As Catholics living on this side of the Resurrection, we understand the reality of Christ’s triumph over death and the freedom that comes along with it. Why wouldn’t we live in the light of that good news and share it with everyone we meet?

For 25 years, Word on Fire has existed to proclaim “Alleluia” in a secularized culture that increasingly grows blind to the transcendent reality of God and to the love and mercy freely on offer in his Son. We seek to awaken the world to the beauty and truth of the Gospel—and that’s your job too!

As we continue to celebrate the Easter season, I pray that your heart will be filled with a renewed desire to live your faith with boldness and joy, so that others might be led to the truth by your words and example.

May the peace of the risen Christ surround you now and forever.

God bless you,

+Bishop Robert Barron
