Previous edition 18 Nov.: Biden approves Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russia with U.S. missiles
‘This is escalation…we will react accordingly’: Putin’s foreign minister’s chilling warning to West after Ukraine fired U.S.-made missiles into Russia –Starmer hints Kiev CAN use British rockets and ex-Kremlin PM says ‘that means WWIII’ | 20 Nov 2024 | Russia has signalled it will retaliate with full-scale nuclear war after Ukraine launched U.S.-made missiles over the border on Tuesday. Vladimir Putin’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov chillingly warned that Moscow would “react accordingly” as he described the strike as a signal Kiev “wanted to escalate.” The terrifying sabre-rattling was confirmed by the Russian President’s close ally Dmitry Medvedev. Posting on X, the Deputy Chair of Russia’s security council said it meant “World War III.” In a dramatic escalation on the 1,000th day of the conflict, Kiev launched six “ATACM” missiles from an undisclosed location over the border into Russian territory. At the same time, Putin signed off changes to the country’s laws on nuclear weapons to make it easier for them to be deployed against Ukraine in retaliation. The amendments allow Russia to launch a nuclear attack in response to a conventional weapons strike — such as one by long-range missiles. It comes as Sir Keir Starmer offered his biggest hint yet that No.10 would authorise Ukraine to fire UK Storm Shadow missiles into Russia.
Kiev fires ATACMS missiles at Russia’s Bryansk Region – MOD –Air defenses have intercepted five US-made projectiles and damaged another, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said | 19 Nov 2024 | The Ukrainian military has launched multiple U.S.-made ATACMS missiles at Russia’s Bryansk Region, some of which have been intercepted, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday. Joe Biden reportedly authorized the use of American-supplied weapons for strikes deep inside Russia last week. Moscow had previously said that long-range strikes with Western weapons would constitute a direct war between NATO and Russia. According to the statement, Kiev fired six long-range ballistic missiles identified as ATACMS early on Tuesday morning. Five of them were intercepted with S-400 and Pantsir air defense systems, while another was damaged and hit the ground at a Russian military site in Bryansk Region, causing a fire that was quickly dealt with.
Biden committing ‘unconstitutional аct of war’ – U.S. lawmaker | 19 Nov 2024 | Joe Biden has violated the US Constitution and ought to be impeached for permitting Ukraine to fire American-supplied long-range missiles into Russia, Congressman Thomas Massie has said. Multiple U.S. outlets reported over the weekend that Biden had lifted the restrictions on Kiev’s use of U.S.-supplied rockets. While the White House has neither confirmed nor denied the news officially, a volley of missiles was fired at Russia’s Bryansk Region early on Tuesday. “By authorizing long range missiles to strike inside Russia, Biden is committing an unconstitutional Act of War that endangers the lives of all U.S. citizens” Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, posted on X on Monday. “This is an impeachable offense, but the reality is he’s an emasculated puppet of a deep state,” he added.
Biden regime to announce $275 million Ukraine weapons package this week | 19 Nov 2024 | The Biden regime is expected to announce a 275 million weapons package for Ukraine this week, a U.S. official tells Fox News. The package is from the presidential drawdown authority (PDA) m-ney, meaning the weapons will come from U.S. stockpiles and will be delivered to Ukraine quicker than a Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) package. The weapons package will include the High Mobility Artillery Rocket (HIMAR) system, but not HIMAR ammunition, and 155 mm artillery shells, drones and Javelin surface-to-air missiles, the official said. Once the announcement on the weapons package is made, the U.S. will have a remaining 6.9 billion in PDA funding and 2.21 billion in USAI funding for Ukraine.
German army warning companies of war with Russia – media | 20 Nov 2024 | The German military has started instructing local enterprises on how to prepare and what to do in the event of a conflict between NATO and Russia, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) newspaper has reported. The Bundeswehr is providing training to the companies based on a 1,000-page page document entitled “Operational Plan Germany,” which was recently approved by lawmakers, the outlet stated in an article on Monday. The contents of the plan are classified, but FAZ claimed that it includes lists of buildings and infrastructure facilities that should be protected as a priority in case of an escalation with Moscow. The plans also reportedly details what private businesses should do to help with defense operations. If the fighting breaks out on NATO’s eastern flank, Germany could become a hub for hundreds of thousands of soldiers, who would have to be transported to the east, as well as for military equipment, food and medical supplies, the article read.
Putin, ascendant in Ukraine, eyes contours of a Trump peace deal | 20 Nov 2024 | Vladimir Putin is open to discussing a Ukraine ceasefire deal with Donald Trump but rules out making any major territorial concessions and insists Kiev abandon ambitions to join NATO, five sources with knowledge of Kremlin thinking told Reuters. U.S. President-elect Trump, who has vowed to swiftly end the conflict, is returning to the White House at a time of Russian ascendancy. Moscow controls a chunk of Ukraine about the size of the American state of Virginia and is advancing at the fastest pace since the early days of the 2022 invasion. In the first detailed reporting of what President Putin would accept in any deal brokered by Trump, the five current and former Russian officials said the Kremlin could broadly agree to freeze the conflict along the front lines.
Ex-security adviser accuses Biden of trying to ‘sabotage’ Trump’s effort to end Russia-Ukraine war | 19 Nov 2024 | A former top security aide to Donald Trump on Monday accused the Biden administration of trying to intentionally “sabotage” the president-elect’s efforts to bring an end to the Russian war against Ukraine. Former National Security Council chief of staff Fred Fleitz said Joe Biden was repeatedly unwilling to authorize Ukraine to use U.S.-made missiles to strike deep inside Russia before the election, and his lame-duck decision this weekend to authorize it now smacks of an effort to thwart Trump’s effort to create a ceasefire and peace deal. “The timing is really curious, because Biden was reluctant to do this before the election, because he was worried he would escalate the war. He would take a lot of criticism for possibly escalating the war,” Fleitz told the John Solomon Reports podcast. “And now that the election is over, he’s made this decision, which Putin has said is a red line and could put Russia at war with the United States.
Deep-State Deep Fake? –The prospect of nuclear war looms larger By CLG News Founder Michael Rectenwald, Ph.D., with hat tip to Lori Price | 18 Nov 2024 | Was Biden’s smiley-faced meeting with Trump to discuss the peaceful transfer of power proof that the whole heated contest between the political rivals — Trump v. Biden, Trump v. Harris — was nothing but Kabuki theater? No, the deep state apparently favors the neocon Democrats in power to the incoming Trump administration, despite Trump’s promises to “rebuild” the military and to erect an Iron-Dome-like missile defense system for the United States. Donald Trump has, after all, threatened peace. The deep state demands a much faster burn rate than Trump’s peace plans or his past presidential tenure would suggest. And such a burn rate only comes with war.
Trump Cabinet picks increase odds Edward Snowden could see life of freedom in the U.S. | 19 Nov 2024 | If President-elect Donald Trump has his way, Tulsi Gabbard will be at the helm of U.S. intelligence and Matt Gaetz will be leading the Justice Department, giving whistle-blower Edward Snowden his best chance yet at a life of freedom in the U.S. Both Gabbard, a former Hawaii House Democrat, and Gaetz, a former House Republican from Florida, will have to be confirmed by the Senate — an uphill battle that may be made more difficult by their anti-establishment beliefs that Snowden should not be punished for revealing information about classified surveillance programs. As members of Congress, both Gabbard and Gaetz co-sponsored legislation that called on the federal government to drop all charges against Snowden. During her 2020 presidential campaign, Gabbard promised to protect Snowden and people like him, if elected.
Trump names Dr. Mehmet Oz to head Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services | 19 Nov 2024 | President-elect Donald Trump has picked Dr. Mehmet Oz to serve as the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a key federal agency that oversees health insurance coverage for more than 150 million Americans. “I have known Dr. Oz for many years, and I am confident he will fight to ensure everyone in America receives the best possible Healthcare, so our Country can be Great and Healthy Again!” Trump said in a statement on Tuesday. “Dr. Oz will be a leader in incentivizing Disease Prevention, so we get the best results in the World for every d-llar we spend on Healthcare in our Great Country.”
Trump nominates former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy for Secretary of Transportation | 18 Nov 2024 | President-elect Trump announced that he is nominating former Congressman Sean Duffy of Wisconsin, and now former Fox News contributor and FOX Business co-host, to serve as the U.S. Secretary of Transportation. “Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant, starting his career as a District Attorney for Ashland, Wisconsin, and later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District,” Trump said in his announcement on Monday. “Sean will use his experience and the relationships he has built over many years in Congress to maintain and rebuild our Nation’s Infrastructure, and fulfill our Mission of ushering in The Golden Age of Travel, focusing on Safety, Efficiency, and Innovation. Importantly, he will greatly elevate the Travel Experience for all Americans!” While in Congress, Duffy helped advocate for fiscal responsibility, economic growth and rural development.
Trump campaign official says Pennsylvania Dems will face jail time over ballot recount | 18 Nov 2024 | Trump campaign official Chris LaCivita predicted election officials in Pennsylvania will face jail time for counting mail-in ballots with either incorrect or missing dates after the state Supreme Court previously ruled such ballots should not be counted. “They will go to jail,” LaCivita, Trump’s co-campaign manager, posted to his X account on Sunday evening. “Count on it.” LaCivita was reacting to a social media post touting a Washington Free Beacon article detailing that Democratic Sen. Bob Casey endorsed Democratic Bucks County commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia last year during her campaign for the position, before she and other Democratic commissioners in the state voted to count the disqualified ballots. “I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country,” Ellis-Marseglia said Thursday as she and other Democrats voted to reject a GOP-led challenge to ballots that should be disqualified.
Pennsylvania’s top court delivers win to GOP as they defend Senate victory from recount challenge | 18 Nov 2024 | The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled Monday that mail-in ballots with incorrect or missing dates cannot be counted in the 2024 election, delivering a victory to Republican Party officials as they moved to aggressively defend their narrow Senate victory in amid a recount challenge in the Keystone State. In a 4-3 decision, the state Supreme Court reaffirmed its prior decision that counties in the state cannot count incorrectly dated or undated ballots, explicitly singling out Boards of Elections in Bucks County, Montgomery County, and Philadelphia County, whom they said “SHALL COMPLY with the prior rulings of this Court in which we have clarified” for mail-in and absentee ballots in their Nov. 1 ruling. The decision is a victory for Republican Party officials, who had filed 12 different lawsuits in the state amid an aggressive Senate recount effort following the narrow victory of Republican candidate David McCormick over three-term Democrat Sen. Bob Casey.
