Celebrating St. Frances Xavier Cabrini

Dear Friend,

Today, the Church celebrates the feast day of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini. Born in Italy in 1850, St. Frances was a missionary extraordinaire. She founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a religious institute that was a major support to her fellow Italian immigrants in the United States.

She made twenty-three transatlantic trips and established sixty-seven hospitals, orphanages, and schools in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She said, “I would sail all the seas . . . to bring the name of Christ to all peoples.”

In your own way, you too are sharing Christ’s love and changing many lives by supporting Word on Fire’s mission and the inspiring films, books, and podcasts we create. In the words of Mother Cabrini, we “will go anywhere and do anything in order to communicate the love of Jesus to those who do not know him or have forgotten him.”

Please consider a special gift to Word on Fire in honor of the missionary zeal of Mother Cabrini.
