The decision prevents Trump from his sentencing being pushed past the November presidential election. A four-year sentence maximum could be imposed, though a shorter sentence or even probation is more likely.

🇮🇪✝️ A state inquiry in Ireland has found a “truly shocking” level of sexual abuse at religious schools in the country. Catholic schools were particularly egregious, with 2,395 allegations spanning a century, said the government.
🇮🇹🌩️ The Arch of Constantine, a massive Roman arch near the Colosseum, has been damaged by lightning. Staff were hurriedly collecting bits of rock and rubble, presumably to repair the arch and rebuild Rome once more.

🏃🏾‍♀ Ugandan Rebecca Cheptegei, who came 44th in the Paris 2024 women’s marathon, suffered burns to three-quarters of her body, when her partner poured petrol on her and set her ablaze, police reported on Monday.

⚽ A record 11,000 international transfers were registered globally during the 2024 close-season transfer window, a report from world soccer governing body Fifa said. Clubs spent more than $6.4-billion on transfer fees.
