The biggest problem with cancel culture is that it’s meant to shield you from “dangerous” ideas or people. But it doesn’t eliminate those ideas or people, so when you’re forced to encounter them you’re left without any preparedness. It’s also a sign of immaturity to toss out someone’s ideas or works solely because they had a handful of views that may be considered problematic, or were affiliated with problematic people. People have gotten to a point where they feel as though they should never have to contend with anything in a serious manner, all they have to do is point out how the person in question isn’t morally perfect and they can brush them off entirely.
