Bay Area Rep. Eric Swalwell really wants to ban unvaccinated Americans from air travel

Bay Area Rep. Eric Swalwell, tweeting from a plane en route to the East Bay Sunday, continued his crusade against individuals unvaccinated against COVID-19 being able to fly.

“On a flight now to Bay Area and it is one-hundred percent batty that the unvaccinated are allowed to fly,” he wrote on Twitter Sunday afternoon. “It’s unsafe in the cabin and we are transporting the virus. Requiring the vaccine to fly is the LEAST we can do to stop the spread.”

It’s not Swalwell’s first time discussing his desire to issue a vaccine mandate for flyers, or expressing frustration on Twitter about unvaccinated people generally. In a Politico article from September discussing the push to get the current administration to mandate vaccines for air travel, Swalwell was quoted as saying that the failed recall on California Gov. Gavin Newsom was proof that President Joe Biden could “go harder on mandates.”
