Most of the GOP base continues to support Trumpism whatever the personal fate of Trump himself. This is a major shift away from Reaganism/Bushism/Romneyism and more towards Nationalist Populism. Trump also possesses the financial resources to bypass the GOP donor class and both fund and launch such a party on his own, possibly splitting off a good portion of the GOP base with it. I can only wish for success here along with similar fragmentation within The Dems between Neoliberals and Progressives.
