Retail and fast-food workers are some of the most poorly treated workers in the US service industries. Some years ago, a worldwide social science research project was conducted that showed McDonald’s “Golden Arches” were the most recognized symbol globally, even more so than the Christian cross or the Islamic crescent. McDonald’s really is the flagship corporation of the global capitalist empire and the Golden Arches are the Empire’s coat of arms.
