It must be awfully frustrating to be someone like this author who actually takes this shit seriously. Here’s the money quote:
“Mr. Biden, and the Democrats he may carry with him into government, are likely to do more good for women and the nation than his competition, the worst president in the history of the Republic. Compared with the good Mr. Biden can do, the cost of dismissing Tara Reade — and, worse, weakening the voices of future survivors — is worth it.”
I’m not sure which is more pathetic: the stupidity or the groveling. Yeah, Trump is really worse than, for example, Andrew Jackson (“Trail of Tears”), Teddy Roosevelt (“the only good Indian is a dead Indian”-yes, he actually said that), Woodrow Wilson (who had Eugene V. Debs imprisoned for 20 years for making an antiwar speech), Franklin Roosevelt (internment camps), Ike (“Operation Wetback”), JFK (“Bay of Pigs”), LBJ (Gulf of Tonkin, Vietnam), Nixon (Cambodia, the Pinochet coup), or Reagan (the mess in Central America). These are just a few examples. There is nothing Trump has done that would not have been considered “normal” or even “liberal,” or maybe even “hyper-liberal,” a few decades ago. Imagine Ronald Reagan defending the “LGBTQ community” during a speech at the Republican Convention or waving a Rainbow flag during a campaign stop.

Let’s be clear: I believe Tara Reade. I believed Anita Hill, too. Remember the buttons? I wore one. What’s the constant here? Joe Biden, then the bumbling head of the Senate Judiciary Committee during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings, now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.
