Southern Poverty Law Center: FRC President Perkins’ accusation ‘outrageous’

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said Thursday that shooting suspect Floyd Lee Corkins II was “given a license” to fire at an FRC security guard by organizations including the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

Immediately after, a SPLC spokesman called Perkins’ comment “outrageous.”

Yesterday’s attack on the Family Research Council and the shooting of a security guard there was a tragedy. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) deplores all violence, and our thoughts are with the wounded victim, Leo Johnson, his family and others who lived through the attack.
