Anarchists may be behind shooting of Italian nuclear boss

Police in Italy are probing the possibility that an anarchist group was behind Monday’s shooting of the head of a nuclear engineering company. Roberto Adinolfi, Chief Executive of Ansaldo Nucleare, was shot in the leg as he left his house in the northern port city of Genoa.

“There is no justification for political dissent and the creation of social tensions,” Italian President Giorgio Napolitano said on Wednesday.

“This could lead to a rebellion and ultimately pave the way for further terrorist attacks,” he continued.

Although there has been no claim of responsibility, members of anarchist groups have gone online to express their support for the attack.
