It’s interesting how different strands within a culture produce certain dynamics with regards to how they interact with each other.
I recall seeing a study a few years ago that showed that of all the EU countries, the Dutch are the least sexually promiscuous, in spite of the fact that just about every kind of commercialized vice imaginable is freely and readily available there. I guess it’s just so commonplace, it becomes a big bore to people who are used to it. For instance, in the red light districts in Amsterdam, you don’t see as many native Dutch people in the coffee houses and patronizing the prostitutes as much as American and British tourists.
