Trump, Iran send opposite signals on ending war

TRUMP CLAIMS IRAN READY FOR END OF WAR  Trump announced yesterday that he was postponing a threat to “decimate” Iran by striking its energy centers, citing what he described as “productive talks” with a “top” Iranian official. Iran responded by telling the press that no such talks had taken place, suggesting Trump had simply backed down on his threat despite Iran refusing to budge on his original condition: the reopening of the Hormuz Strait.  READ
3 CATHOLICVOTE-BACKED INITIATIVES MAKE IT TO BALLOT  Three statewide ballot initiatives backed by CatholicVote have qualified for Colorado’s November 2026 ballot after clearing the state’s signature threshold. The measures aim to protect children from human trafficking, ensure girls do not have to compete against male athletes in school sports, and prohibit invasive medical procedures intended to alter a child’s sexual characteristics.  READ
RADICAL SETTLERS INCREASE VIOLENCE IN WEST BANK  Dozens of radical Jewish settlers reportedly attacked Palestinians in about 20 locations across the West Bank the night of March 21, torching homes, vehicles, and other property in what media reports described as retaliation for the death of an 18-year-old settler earlier that day. Law enforcement is still investigating whether the settler’s death was deliberate or simply the result of a car accident.  READ

KERMIT GOSNELL DIES IN PRISON  Serial killer and late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell died in prison yesterday. He was 85 years old. Gosnell was convicted of numerous felonies, including involuntary manslaughter in the death of a woman who came to him for an abortion and murder for the infanticide of several babies in botched abortions.  READ
POPE LEO SENDS INSIGHTFUL LETTER TO CHILDREN’S MAG  Pope Leo recently sent a letter to an Italian children’s magazine, writing that looking into the eyes of children caught in war may be the only thing capable of converting the adults who allow it. The Pope also warned parents not to let AI chatbots replace their children’s real relationships or dull the intellect and creativity of young people.  READ
CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE CLOSED TO MOST THIS HOLY WEEK  With Holy Week a few days away, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, confirmed in a statement that “ordinary celebrations open to all cannot take place” this year at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. SAINT OF THE DAY  Today, the Church celebrates St. Catherine of Sweden. The daughter of St. Bridget of Sweden embraced a life of prayer and charity, persuading her husband to take a mutual vow of celibacy before later becoming abbess of Vadstena. She spent her life promoting her mother’s religious order and was canonized in 1484. She is the patron saint of miscarriage loss.  READ
