America Has Been Demoted (Part Two)

The multipolar transition is real. But the window it has opened will not stay open, and who builds what inside that window determines everything. In Part 2, Shahid Bolsen breaks down what Muslim-majority countries and the Global South actually need to do — externally, regionally, and internally — to arrive at the post-transition order as sovereign actors rather than as new dependencies dressed in the language of multipolarity. That means understanding why the Gulf states’ engagement with global capital is a strategy, not a surrender. It means understanding why Gulf involvement in conflicts across the Muslim world — however imperfect — keeps those conflicts inside a regional framework where we negotiate the settlement, not the West. And it means confronting the hardest truth of all: that weakening your own state, for any reason, is not a path to accountability. It is a path to Libya. The conclusion is a call for unity — not the unity of agreement, but the unity of people who recognize a common threat and refuse to let it find the crack.
